Before SIPA, Daniel served as a Teach for America corps member, where he encountered and addressed a myriad of social media-bourne conspiracy theories. This experience was crucial in shaping his understanding of the digital landscape and the power of information.

More recently, Daniel has built a reputation for his independent Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) research at Columbia University. His focus here has been on examining how extremist and state actors are exploiting AI models in their influence operations.  Some of his published work included a detailed report on a far-right group’s manipulation of Meta's LLAMA model and a jihadist organization's employment of deepfake technology. Both of which are published at the Global Network on Extremism and Technology (GNET). Because of this, he has had the opportunity to present my findings in Washington D.C., offering briefings to multiple government agencies.
